1921 Evinrude, Model A,
with optional tilting mechanism

HOME

Evinrude row boat motor with tilter. #A 114342 made in 1921.

As row boat motors go, Evinrudes are not very hard to find, but this one is equipped with the optional tilter and that makes it uncommon. It also makes it very heavy; there is a lot of extra cast iron there.

To tilt it up, a lever on the side is moved forward and this releases a pin from a hole in the lower transom clamp. The tiller is put under a hook to keep it tilted. (See second photo in the top row.)
