Federal

THE FEDERAL MOTOR & MFG CO. INC.
WASHINGTON, D.C.
FACTORY, NEWARK, N.J.

The Federal was a short lived company with a factory in Newark, New Jersey.

The motor was steered by cables much like the Waterman, but the Federal could rotate the lower unit 180º, giving it reverse. Federals had one of the first tilting transom brackets.

If you compare the rear views of these two Federals with the rear view of the opposed twin Arrow, which was also made in Newark, you will see remarkable similarities. They were both being made in 1915.
Hmmm.
