Jack Craib's Rowboat Motor Information Site Microrameur ÉTABLISSEMENTS LABINAL |
The company made the Microrameur (Micro-rower) in the 1920s. The two designs were the aerial propellor model and a stick motor type with an interesting gearless connection to the prop. From a brochure below - "The Microrameur brand established itself several years ago with its aerial propeller model and more recently with its marine model, which have both had the most legitimate success since their appearance. The builders of Microrameurs are better qualified than anyone for the machining of small two-stroke motors, since they have been building the famous one for eight years, the Micromotor, universally reputed to be the sole holder of the "Touring-Club de France" Grand Prix, the "L'Auto" Grand Prix, the "Bol d'Or" etc, etc. The materials used in the construction of Microrameurs are top notch cylinders. The pistons and bearing surfaces are carefully ground, the crankshafts and the connecting rods are forged in special Imphy steel, the ball bearings and the rollers are of large dimensions and could resist efforts much greater than those which they support." |
