Jack Craib's Rowboat Motor Information Site Motorgo This is a Lockwood-Ash badge motor made for Sears-Roebuck. The example, #A 379 illustrates an early Motorgo. The tell is the access to the gear case is where the prop shaft exits the gear case in the 1914/1915 motor, and later motors had the access to the gear case on top. Also, the Motorgo name cast into the exhaust manifold appears only in 1914 motors. A much later Motorgo, in the bottom row, one can identify from the cast tank and crankcase combo. Note the large spring, an unusual feature, used to combat torque steer. The motor #7816 has the desirable, and not often seen, underwater exhaust. |
