1925 - Mr. Goetze's Safix

HOME

I have been slowly piecing together some family history, particularly related to my grandfather, Mr B Goetze.
My grandfather, was an engineer, based in London, having arrived from Germany in 1901 and naturalised in 1909.

He worked for a number of organisations which included Milnes-Daimler, The Tram Company (Clifton Robinson), Oylers and lastly 'Whitlock Motors' (approx. 1920- 1930). He had an interest in both boats and aeroplanes (one of which he designed, built and flew in 1911 which was known as the "Fritz Monoplane" - it was during his time with Whitlock Motors that he modified (duelled) Safix outboard engines which he installed on his river Thames based punt.

I had to look up the Fritz!
