AOMCI members have noted:
- This is a 1918 Koban.
- It has a magneto last used on the 1915 & 1916 Koban model D, identified by its large diameter flywheel, but mainly by the fat rim on it which is used for starting (no knob). A 1917 Model E or newer Koban magneto flywheel is smaller in diameter and uses a knob for starting.
- The gas tank, cap and gearcase are suspect but the pictures don't show it clear enough from a side view.
- The paint is wrong.
